1. Who we are
Barakah ("the app") is developed and published by BARAKAH TECHNOLOGIES, INC. For questions about this policy, contact us at support@barakahtechnologies.net.
2. Barakah for Mac is a companion, not a separate app
Barakah for Mac shares the same bundle identity, Core Data model, and CloudKit container as Barakah for iPhone and iPad — it is the same app and the same family data, viewed on a larger screen. It cannot create a new family, invite caregivers, add children, or restore a backup; those actions happen on iPhone or iPad. If no synchronized family is found, the Mac app will ask you to create or join one in Barakah on iPhone or iPad first.
3. What data the app accesses
The same data as the iPhone/iPad app: child information, feeding/sleep/diaper/growth/medication/milestone logs, and family member information for anyone you've invited to share the app. All of it is entered by you (on any of your synced devices) and remains entirely under your control.
4. Where data is stored
All data is stored locally on your Mac using Apple's Core Data framework, and synced to your personal iCloud private database via Apple CloudKit — the identical mechanism used by the iPhone/iPad app, under the same CloudKit container. We have no access to your iCloud data. We do not operate any application server, cloud database, or backend API.
5. Reports, PDF export, and printing
Reports generated on the Mac (growth charts, care summaries) are created locally from your synced data. Exporting to PDF or printing uses macOS's own export and print system; nothing is transmitted to BARAKAH TECHNOLOGIES, INC. or any third party as part of these actions.
6. Security
Barakah for Mac supports the same optional app lock as the iPhone/iPad app — Touch ID, on Macs that support it, or your Mac's password — using Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. We never receive or store biometric data.
7. Barakah Premium+
Access to the Mac app requires an active Barakah Premium+ subscription ($49.99/year), purchased and managed entirely through the App Store. BARAKAH TECHNOLOGIES, INC. does not collect or store payment information. Apple may process purchase-related data per its own privacy policy.
8. No third-party tracking or advertising
Barakah for Mac does not include any advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or third-party tracking library. There are no ads of any kind.
9. Children's privacy
Barakah is a tool designed for parents and caregivers. It does not collect data from children directly — all data is entered by the adult user, on any of their synced devices.
10. Data deletion
Because the Mac app shares your family's iCloud data with your iPhone/iPad app, deleting or managing data follows the same process described in the iPhone/iPad Privacy Policy, section 12. Removing Barakah for Mac from your Mac only removes its local copy; it does not delete your family's synced data.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. The current policy is always available at this URL.
